5 Ways to Use Lavender Misting Spray (Including a Few You Probably Haven’t Thought Of)
Lavender Misting Spray might seem like one of those products with one obvious purpose: make something smell like lavender. But once you have a bottle nearby, you quickly realize there are a lot more ways to work it into your everyday routine.
At Strehl Family Farms, our lavender misting spray is made with just two ingredients: lavender and water. Our lavender is grown and hand-harvested on our family farm in Traverse City, Michigan, then small-batch steam distilled.
From your nightstand to your gym bag, here are five of our favorite ways to use it.
1. Make Your Bed Feel Fresh Every Night
There’s something about getting into fresh sheets that instantly makes bedtime better. You may not be washing your bedding every night (and we certainly aren’t), but a few sprays of lavender mist can give your pillows and linens a simple refresh between washes.
Mist your pillow, sheets, or duvet before bed to bring a subtle lavender scent into your nighttime routine.
Farm Tip: Spray your pillow about 5–10 minutes before getting into bed so the mist has time to settle.
2. Keep It in the Fridge for a Morning Face Refresh
This one might not be the first use that comes to mind.
Keep your lavender misting spray in the refrigerator overnight and give yourself a light mist in the morning. The cool spray can feel especially refreshing when you wake up feeling warm, puffy, or simply not quite ready for the day.
It’s an easy little ritual that takes about two seconds—and feels surprisingly good.
Farm Tip: Keep a bottle in the refrigerator so it’s already cold when you wake up.
3. Throw It in Your Gym Bag
Finished a workout but don’t have time to shower immediately? A quick mist can be an easy way to freshen up after the gym, Pilates, a walk, or a particularly hot summer day.
Mist your face, neck, or chest when you want that okay, I feel human again moment before heading to your next stop.
Farm Tip: Keep a bottle permanently tucked into your gym or workout bag so you don’t have to remember to pack it.
4. Make It Your Travel Essential
Hotel rooms that smell a little...off. Airplane cabins. Unfamiliar pillows. Clothes that have been sitting inside a suitcase for hours.
Travel gives you plenty of opportunities to wish you had something fresh and familiar with you.
Lavender misting spray is an easy addition to your travel routine. Use it to refresh linens, fabrics, hotel rooms, or the inside of your suitcase and bring a little piece of home along with you.
Farm Tip: Lightly mist the inside of your suitcase before packing. Your clothes will have a subtle lavender freshness when you unpack at your destination.
5. Create a Midday Desk Reset
You know that 2–3 PM feeling when you’ve been staring at your computer for hours and suddenly your brain decides it’s done for the day?
Instead of immediately reaching for another coffee, try creating a small sensory reset. A quick lavender mist around your workspace can change the atmosphere without requiring you to leave your desk or interrupt your day.
Sometimes a tiny ritual is all you need to mentally mark the transition into the second half of your day.
Farm Tip: Keep a bottle next to your computer so reaching for it becomes part of your afternoon routine.
One Bottle, A Lot of Possibilities
Lavender misting spray doesn’t need to be complicated. That’s actually what we like about it.
Keep one beside your bed. Put another in your gym bag. Bring it on your next trip. Reach for it when your workspace needs a refresh. There’s no single “right” way to use it—just simple ways to bring a little more lavender into the moments you already have.
